Dr. Wiegandt’s upcoming speaking engagement
HANEFELD’s Hamburg based Senior Associate Dr. Dirk Wiegandt will be speaking at the session “Old Tricks, New Tricks: Corruption in Arbitration” at the AIJA - International Association of Young Lawyers Annual Congress in Singapore on 23 August 2022.
The session will cover highly sensitive issues such as arbitral tribunals’ rights and obligations to investigate corruption and the consequences of positive findings of fraud by arbitrators. Further, the session will include a series of hypothetical scenarios inspired by real cases to consider the evolving definitions and standards of proof of corruption that have developed in recent years, including some notable decisions arising from Singapore.
